What is a Hardware Fingerprint?
In
order to finalize the registration process and provide your
permanent unlock key code, we will need to obtain your "hardware
fingerprint" for your copy of Virtual Music Jukebox. To obtain this,
please follow these simple instructions:
When you first start the program, you will be presented with a
"Reminder" splash screen. Please select "Enter Key".
You will then be presented with the "Enter Key" dialogue. In the
middle of the dialogue you will see the "Hardware fingerprint". It
is a series of 4 alphanumeric characters, a hyphen, then another 4
alphanumeric characters (i.e., 5111-60D6).
If the
"Enter Key" dialogue no longer appears when you start VMJ, you may
start the program with a command line parameter of "register"
(without the quote marks) after the program's file name. This is
easily done by clicking the Start Button in Windows, then selecting
the "Run" menu choice.
If you
installed the software to the default folders, it will look similar
to the example below and you may actually copy>paste everything
including the qoutes ("): "C:\Program Files\Digital Innovations
LLC\Virtual Music Jukebox 7\Virtual Music Jukebox.exe" register
The
"Hardware Fingerprint" is unique to the machine that VMJ is
installed on. The purpose of this is to help cut back on piracy as
well as provide a more superior registration system. The new
registration system allows minor modifications to the PC that VMJ is
registered upon without the need for a new code. (i.e. reformatting,
memory upgrades, and re-installs of VMJ).
